PROFESSOR BEACH GOT FAT!

Friday, November 4th, 2011

Okay, so maybe it was one too many Strawberry Daiquiris on the beach at sunset… or maybe just way too many
Cheeseburgers in Paradise.  No excuses, Professor beach got FAT! 225 lbs FAT.  After years of exploring and enjoying beaches around the world it just wasn't fun anymore. No more fun because when I got to the beach I was ashamed to take off my shirt. Ever feel that way?

My last beach exploring trip to Florida really did it. I just sat in a beach chair under an umbrella. Didn't even want to swim or walk on the beach because I was just too uncomfortable in my skin. Just too much of me “in my skin”. Fast forward two months and I'm down to 205 lbs and on my way to a fit and healthy lifestyle. Join me on my pursuit of health and once again walking the beach with my shirt off.   Watch my progress and see how I did it here.

Frigate Bay Map

Facts about Frigate Bay:
Frigate Bay is the name of a Village located on the island of Saint Kitts. There are two bays that are located southeast of the capital Basseterre, at the northern end of the isthmus joining the Southeast Peninsula with the rest of the island. Frigate Bay North is extensively developed, and lies against the rougher Atlantic coast of the island. Frigate Bay Beach, on the calmer south coast, is a popular beach with Basseterre locals. The capital city of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Basseterre, is located on the coast of Basseterre (Spawnapuss) Bay, but the city also stretches northward into the parish of Saint Peter Basseterre. The location is ideal, as it is the congregation of the island’s 4 main thoroughfares (West to Sandy Point, East to Cayon, North to Monkey Hill, and South to the South East Peninsula). The parish’s other settlements act as suburbs to the city. Some of the suburbs are Frigate Bay, Mattingley, Bird Rock, Harbour View and New Road. The rich agricultural lands surrounding Basseterre are heavily cultivated, mainly with fruits and vegetables for local consumption as well as for sale to cruise ships and hotels. Being home to all of St. Kitts’ white sand beaches, the South East Peninsula in Saint George Basseterre is the centre for the island’s tourism industry. At present, nearly all the tourism development is at the resort town of Frigate Bay, ideally located on a narrow isthmus with 2 fine beaches (one on the Caribbean side and one on the Atlantic side) within 5 minutes walking distance of one another. It is also home to Saint Kitts’ championship golf course.
